frequently asked QUESTIONS, IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO ASK MORE please get in touch

WHY SHOULD I ENGAGE A TOASTMASTER

Because you want to leave nothing to chance for your event and ensure all runs smoothly, and coordinates the day for you.

Announcements and introductions will be made in the appropriate manner, formally or informally, as the occasion demands and will be made  accurately, clear and appropriate.

What type of events do you cover

As a professional toastmaster I am able to provide my services whatever your event, whether it be a wedding, corporate or civil function, gala dinners and lunches, masonic ladies festivals, charity events and more

THE VENUE HAS PROMISED TO look after EVERYTHINg

This usually means that the events manager or banqueting manager will attempt to fit in what a Toastmaster might otherwise do along with their many other duties! If something goes wrong their responsibility is to the venue and employer. Engaged by you, I work for you and you alone.

HOW SHOULD I CHOOSE

A Professional Toastmaster will have undergone proper training and hold independent credentials from, and be a member of a recognised association.

Check that whoever you consider engaging for your event holds suitable insurance.

Good places to meet and have a chat are Open days and Fairs, but you should also meet them privately and talk at length about plans for your day, before booking if possible.

Toastmasters are individuals, and no two exactly the same, search for someone you can relate to, makes you feel at ease and suits the style of the event..

WHAT WILL you DO

We’ll meet in advance and I’ll be able to guide you on protocol and etiquette, assist you with creating a timeline and happily offer any personal recommendations - this is where my experience can prove a great asset!

I will be on hand to support and encourage all those with a part to play, giving them confidence and creating a calming influence. This means that you can take your eye off of the time and relax without a worry.

I’ll arrive early, to liaise with your caterers, venue, photographer, entertainers and other professionals involved, and continue to do so during the event. Throughout the day, I would deal discreetly and efficiently with any matters that arise, reworking plans should anything unexpected occur.

IS IT CUSTOMARY TO PROVIDE you WITH A MEAL

Yes it is customary to provide a meal of some sort and soft drinks during the day. This is always very much appreciated. (I will never consume alcohol whilst working).

I would normally take my meal at a table on my own, away from but within sight of the top table, so I can continue to observe, and be on hand if needed.

DO WE NEED INSURANCE

Yes I would recommend all couples have wedding insurance. It would cover things like cancellation, rearrangement, failure of suppliers, venue, wedding gifts, transport, video and photography, etc.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU FALL ILL ON OUR DAY

In the very unlikely event that serious illness or for a reason beyond my control I am unable to attend on the day you will receive a full refund, I have a database that I can call on and try to put you in touch with should something extraordinary happen. I always recommend that couples invest in wedding insurance incase of any unforeseen circumstances, i.e illness, venue, caterers, etc. Happily I have never not been able to attend a booking.

HOW MUCH IS THE DEPOSIT

The non refundable booking fee is £100. This secures your date, so there is no chance of a 'double-booking'. This is deducted from the total fee payable one month before the wedding.  Around this time is when I will be in touch to go through your exact requirements as well as the finer details of your event.

HOW DO I BOOK

Get in touch to check availability for your day. If you decide you would like to book, I will send you a link to an online booking confirmation and link to pay booking fee by BACS bank transfers (with online banking making this very easy for most people, and also free)
